Well, here we are getting ready to head out of Oklahoma to
our next adventure. At least, we’re
talking about getting ready. The weather
just does not want to cooperate. After
being stationary for five months, we really need to clean out our “basement”
before we store more stuff in there. The
weather is finally starting to warm up but now it's raining.
It has been way too cold here!
We have decided we will not be doing any more
cold winters – because we don’t have to.
We’ve had sleet and snow, temps down to 7, frozen pipes, and no hot
water because our water heater cannot keep up with the cold.
The job has been a cake walk – easy for me to say since Grumpy has done most of it! The
scenery has been awesome, even in the snow, and we have met some very nice and welcoming people here.
We have had the pleasure of being just minutes away from
some friends who have become very dear to us and they will be sorely
missed! It has been a pleasure getting
to know you both better. And
Pickles! I’m so glad we got to see you
too!
Shelly and Alya came for a few days at Thanksgiving. They got here just in time for us to hop in the car and head to a
Thanksgiving buffet at one of the local casinos. Always fun to spend time with them.
One of the funnest (did you know that "funnest" is not a real word?)
things we did was go see the animals at the Oasis Animal Adventures, where they
have a zebra, a camel, Omar the lemur, kangaroos that we got to feed, and pigs.
A wonderful place!

Hey look! There's Grumpy with the camel!

We also visited a local llama farm
Christmas was nice and quiet.
My kids
came for a few days.
We had a bonfire out on the dock with some
jalapeno wine, gambled and ate at the casino, went wine tasting, exchanged
gifts, and had a nice dinner at the restaurant I call The Brothel (real name
The Shebang – great food and fun décor!).

We are planning a trip to Branson before we leave, and hopefully a trip to some (easy) caves not too far from here.

We found the perfect coffee shop!
We head out of Oklahoma at the end of March, first stop
Dallas to take care of a few things.
After a few days there, we are going to New Orleans for my first time!
Then on to Florida – another place
I have never been to – for some sun and warm weather!
We will have a little bit of time after that to get to our next job in Michigan, which starts May 1
st.
We have a summer job at an RV campground in Michigan as Activities
Directors! Does anyone else see the
humor in that? We are really looking
forward to it and actually I think we’ll do a good job! We will lead Bingo night and weekend parties
and activities for both kids and adults.
We will be in Michigan until the end of September, and then
we will be heading to Southern California for a very special wedding! We are so happy to be welcoming a wonderful
man into our family!
