Merry Christmas 2018

Merry Christmas!

We are currently in far northeast Oklahoma, working a little bit, lounging a lot, and enjoying being on a lake again.  We are finding our way around, finding the best restaurants and shopping – including thrift shopping, my favorite!  We even have some longtime friends here who we get together with for dinner occasionally.

One of Grumpy’s jobs here is to blow the leaves off the sidewalks and decks.  The leaves were absolutely gorgeous – until they started falling.  Ha ha!  Fall!

Here are some examples of our regular days.  I walked around for several hours at the car dealership with my shirt on inside out.  I blame the fact that the RV is dark and small and there’s no place to take that last look in the mirror.  Grumpy crunched an outside metal trash can with the side of the RV while trying to park.  We have set off the smoke alarm just a few times trying to learn how to cook in our new toaster oven.  And we have decided our couch is ugly and uncomfortable so we ordered some new Beckoloungers!

While we are not complaining at all, we have decided that this will be our last “cold” winter.  One of the beauties of living in an RV is that we can go to where we want to be!  We are hoping for a job in either South Texas or Florida next winter. 

We have a job lined up for next Summer at an RV Park/Campground in Michigan.  We get to be Activities Directors!  That’ll be different for us but we’re looking forward to it, and I actually think we’ll do a good job and have fun.  I’m pretty sure we can cook pancakes for Mother’s Day, lead a bike parade, call numbers for Bingo, and run karaoke night.  (I had to promise Grumpy I would not sing, especially Sonny and Cher.)

2018 has been adventurous, hectic, educational, and, at times, emotional!  And we wouldn’t change anything about it.
